What's happening?

The work of a Singing Leader is enjoyable, varied and filled with the joy of music making. Two new daytime Community Choirs, in collaboration with the people at www.ourlocalevent.com, continue to develop each week (term time only) in Bedford and St Albans. New singers are coming along to "the best part of being at work" at Home Retail Group to discover new songs and new faces, building a sound and building a team of people working together from across the different departments and companies within the Group. Along the way funds have been raised for Alzheimers, Parkinsons & Cancer Support Charities. Singing really makes a difference, not just to those doing the singing but it can help others too. Christmas carols and songs performed on one evening helped raise over £1,000 last year alone, a more than 50% increase on the previous year! A big thank you to the singers who came together for a special evening and a very bug than you to everyone who put some cash into the collecting buckets.

2015

In 2015 David began working as Singing Leader with two new Community Choirs; in collaboration with the people at www.ourlocalevent.com these are now taking place each week (term time only) in Bedford and St Albans. The Home Retail Group have been singing under the leadership of David Meek since 2013. Each week a group of staff meet to have fun and relaxation at the end of the working day as they laugh and sing there way through a collection of popular, traditional and nostalgic songs. The have performed with other choirs, including the MK Singing for the Brain group.
